Besides all specific pieces of configuration which are described in the previous topics, there is a general setup page for all other/general configuration settings.
The setup page
Go to Administration > Setup to open this page. Here you can see which version of the software you are currently running and whether all connections are online.
If you ever need to change the credentials for the Data Hub, you can do that here. Be aware, this is rarely the case.
If you have moved your Magento to another URL, or if for some reason you want to use a new Access Token, you can update your settings here.
For more information about the Magento REST API and Access Token see this page:
https://nvision.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/80000946155
If you open this Setup Page and find that the Latest Version is shown in red, like in the example below. Then that means that a newer version of Commerce 365 for Magento is available.
Click here for more information on how to update.
Product Attachments (Product Documents)
Magento by default doesn't have capabilities to add documents to products. But our partner Amasty has an extension which adds exactly that functionality, so we added support for that extension to our software as well.
Once you have installed the Amasty Product Attachments extension for Magento 2 + the corresponding API extension, you can enable the use of product attachments in our setup as well.
Click here to read more about the Amasty Product Attachments extension.
Inventory
By default, the inventory calculation uses the following formula; Available Quantity - Quantity On Sales Orders to calculate which inventory value has to be used online. But in addition to this, you can apply an Inventory Location Filter on the setup page. A filter value has to be entered just like every other filter in BC; LOCATION1|LOCATION2|LOCATION..
After changing a filter it might be necessary to recalculate all inventory values. Click on Actions > Recalculate Inventory to do so.
Public Pricing
If you want to define pricing (the default prices for the public view / non-logged in customers) by using a template customer. You can fill in the Customer No you want to use here. Once this is done, you can setup sales prices & discounts for this customer, and the resulting prices will be what is shown on the web. You can override this setting on a website level.
If you set a customer number, then you should also specify a sales quote number series (Calculation Order Nos.). The system will use it to create temporary quotes to calculate prices. Do worry, this is temporary data, you won’t see theses quotes in the sales quote list within Business Central.
Media
Under Media Storage Type there are 3 possible values.
Select Database if you want to be able to drag / upload item images via the BC client. This is the most common option. Select External if you want to make use of image links which point to images which are stored somewhere outside of your Business Central environment. These External Content URLs can be added both manually, or by using one of the xlsx import methods.
Select Azure Storage - File Share if you want to connect to a File Share within an Azure storage account. Once this has been configured, you can use Actions > Sync Azure Storage Images to link the content from your Azure location to your web items. Within your Azure file share location please create folders which correspond with your Item No/SKU's. Each folder can contain an unlimited number of images for that specific item.
Use Resize and Maximum Image Width / Maximum Image Height, if you want to resize images when they are uploaded to Magento. Be aware; images will still be stored in the Business Central database in their original format. And, be aware that Business Central is not software which specializes in image processing. So if you want the very best results in terms of scaling and optimizing your product images, we always advise to use professional image editing and processing software.
Sales
Order Processed Status – This is the order status why Business Central applies to your Magento orders, in order to make sure that Magento knows that Business Central is now handling this order. The default value is ‘erp_processing’. Be aware that this new status also has to be created in Magento as well. See the following page for more information: https://docs.magento.com/m2/ee/user_guide/sales/order-status-custom.html
No. Series
Here is a list of all number series which Commerce 365 will use for its own entities. Most of these you probably just want to leave as they are. But the Customer Nos and Sales Order Nos settings have a few possibilities. You can leave these blank, and in that case your standard number series will be used for all new customers and incoming orders. But, you could also decide to create a number series specifically for web customers and web orders.
Logging
Commerce 365 comes with a logging mechanism. Specifically during the implementation phase, or if you are researching a synchronization issue, it might be helpful to enable Synchronization Logging.
If you have Synchronization Logging enabled, you will see that under Integration > Log you will find the full details of every piece of data that was sent from or to Magento.
In addition to this internal logging mechanism, Commerce 365 also makes use of Microsoft Azure Application Insights to monitor and ensure stable behaviour of all data integration processes. When enabled statistics and behaviour of your instance are logged, anonymized, to our Application Insights environment, and this allows us to monitor whether data processing works as expected. But, you can also add your own key, and then all information is sent to your own Azure Monitoring instance.
